We were thrilled to welcome our puppies into the world on Saturday 1st March (St David's day). 8 puppies, 5 dogs and 3 bitches. Dam “Winnie” whelped amazingly, her first litter. Quietly and quickly got on with whelping, she's doing an amazing job. She's given her pups the absolute best start and we couldn't be more pleased with her. She keeps them full and immaculately clean. Winnie is a gorgeous girl, very loyal intelligent and caring. She's a typical sporting terrier. High drive but she does have an “off” switch. She's at home working vermin or equally content snuggled Infront of the fire or Aga. Winnie is of course here for you to meet. The sire is our “Strike”. As you can see from the pictures, he is a tank yet he carries everything in proportion. Strike has tremendous strength and bone. He is the perfect size. Not huge, he's just right. Strike has a temperament of an angel. He's the perfect gentleman, amazing family dog. Great fun, anything he can help with he will. Fantastic with children. Just an all round good boy. Strike is here for you to meet. Our puppies are strong and are showing that brilliant strength and frame inherited from both parents. They have been legally tail docked and have all the relevant vet paperwork. This litter I'm sure are going to mature into brilliant terriers. They will go on and excel in any line of work or family home. They will want for nothing here being brought on with no expenses spared. 🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?

  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.

  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.

  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.

  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
